The filming of Paperback Writer

#OTD in 1966, the band shot scenes for their promotional films Paperback Writer and Rain at Chiswick Park in London. The promos were directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, who would also go on to direct Let It Be. He had to work fast on the edit: three days later, Paperback Writer would be shown on BBC TV’s Top of the Pops. Although the promo was shot in colour, the TV broadcast was in black and white.
