You don't know us if you don't know Rubber Soul

John

Rubber Soul was released in time for Christmas 1965, just two weeks after the album's final mixing had taken place.

Following the release of their previous album, The Beatles had undertaken a momentous tour of the USA and Canada including a record breaking appearance at New York's famous Shea Stadium.

After a much-deserved holiday, the guys returned to the studios in mid October. They recorded not only the album, but also a new single - the band's first double A-side, featuring "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out".

Rolling Stone

Rubber Soul was the Beatles album I played over and over.

Joni Mitchell

Rubber Soul blew my mind. I liked the way it all went together, the way it was all one thing. It was a challenge to me to do something similar. That made me want to make Pet Sounds.
