CBS commemorated The Beatles' first Ed Sullivan Show performances with a replica marquee - duplicating the one displayed at the Ed Sullivan Theater fifty years earlier.
The CBS special celebrating The Beatles' 50th anniversary of their first appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show has received an Emmy award for Outstanding Music Direction by three-time GRAMMY® winner Don Was.
"The Beatles: The Night That Changed America — A GRAMMY® Salute" received six Emmy Award nominations. Four of the Beatles Special's six nods were announced this past Saturday, and the remaining two nominated categories will be announced during Monday's primetime telecast of the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will take place at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Monday, Aug. 25, and will be broadcast on NBC.
