• “Today marks 53 years since John Lennon first met Paul McCartney at Woolton Fete in Liverpool UK. It's also 2 days after I was born. Happy 70th Birthday to Ringo for tomorrow the 7th of July who was both the oldest & at the same time the youngest Beatle...he was older than John by 3 months but the last to join the Beatles in 1962.”

• “As a 1st generation Beatles fan I'm sorry to say this but unlike the Beatles Remasters which were way overdue for a make over, I'm finding it a tad hard to be excited by the prospect of these new releases. Yeah it's John's 70th but aside from the "deluxe" re-packaging, the 8 original albums were only remastered very recently..the earliest being 2000 & the latest in 2005 (Some Time In NYC - albeit missing the "live jam" with Frank Zappa & the Mothers) with the rest in between, On top of that we've had 3 "best ofs" the most recent a 2CD 38 track "Working Class Hero - The Definitive Lennon" from 2005 which included mostly newly remastered tracks. That's not counting the 2 film soundtracks as well as 1991's 4 CD box "Lennon" & "Acoustic". Rarities - 4 CD "Anthology" & it's "Wonsaponatime" companion single disc.”

“Aussie first generation Beatles fan. I've loved them since I was about 6 years old. They toured Australia in 1964, probably their busiest year ever...no performing artist or group has a schedule like that anymore! I was born 2 days before John first met Paul so I was probably always destined to be a lifelong fan. I'm a Beatles music & book collector though I'm selective of what I buy. I play drums and have only recently started to appreciate Ringo's talents as a drummer..they are quite deceptive to the ear.
There will be no other like them!”
