Fav Track: Happiness Is A Warm Gun (White)
“This song may only be 2mins44secs but it has a trillion different reasons why I love it. John Lennon himself said that this song shows the progression of rock, and I completely agree. It is basically made up of 3 different songs but somehow it is strung together to form something beautiful. The first verse may be complete nonsense made up on some acid trip, but too be honest, this nonsense is intrigueing and ridiculously catchy, and the story behind most of the lines is really interesting ("man with multi-coloured mirrors, hands are busy working overtime" etc). The fuzzy guitar break is rivetting, making your body loose control. Then the "I need a fix" bit is hyponotic, causing you to slightly question your sanity. The climax is dynamite. John singing the title is perfect "happiness is a warm gun". When he moves into the part where he is basically talking/yelling "when I hold you, in my arms, and I feel..." it just makes you want to rip your heart out of your chest and show the world everything inside of you. Throughout this John goes back to old school rock and roll and has that real grunt in his voice, this is one of his best vocal performances of all time. But you can't forget the other part of the Beatles, the harmonies. Paul and George in the chorus singing "bang bang shoot shoot", then later on with the "oooooo's" just spin your head round and round. I love every single millisecond of this song, and it puts me in a trance every time. I feel all my emotions spilling out of me for the world to see, but I like it because I want people to see who I really am. Although the line "happiness is a warm gun" is from a magazine, to me it creates it's own meaning to me. I see it as happiness is rare to come by, it is ready to explode and die at anytime if you don't watch out. And finally, I find it as one of life's awful coincidences, John died from a gun that was shot, bringing about absolutely no happiness, this song to me reminds me that he is dead, but I still love him and will always remember him. RIP John Lennon.”

“I am an absolutely huge Beatles fan, obviously that's why I'm here. I also love Alice Cooper, Backstreet Boys, Eric Clapton, Beyonce, Black Veil Brides and The Used. So this shows that I definitely have a diverse music taste, which is particularly why I love the Beatles because they transcended so many styles in their short but brilliant career. I am not going to lie, I am a teenage girl so I am very into choosing my favourite Beatle. I think Paul is the most gorgeous person on earth, those big brown eyes, his slim body, his smile, his nose, makes my spine tingle. He has a voice voice that not only turns me on (when he does rocky numbers like Long Tall Sally) but somehow can also be the voice of an angel as it is so pure (Hey Jude, For No One). John however is very ***y and I admire his intelligence and his crude sense of humor, and I do love the rawness of his voice (Twist & Shout, You Can't Do That). George is quintessentially ridiculously handsome and although he doesn't have a great vocal range, I do love the tone in his voice. I also gotta say, While My Guitar Gently Weeps is the most beautiful song I have ever heard, I wished it was a single so more people in the world could hear it. I feel as though it could have been a song to change the world, "I look at the world and notice it's turning, with every mistake we must surely be learning, I look at you all and see the love that is sleeping", could have influenced society to change to make a better world, but instead only a few lucky souls are able to appreciate it and be impacted by it. Poor Ringo really doesn't have many merits in my books, however I must say Octopus's Garden is beautiful. As you can see on my profile, I have a lot to say, so please don't hesitate to comment/message me because I love hearing other people's opinions and finding people who share my views.”

“This was such a hard one for me, the others that were definitely up there were Abbey Road (their final hurrah, George's first #1 Something, Oh! Darling, Octopus's Garden, I Want You), White Album (Happiness is a warm gun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps), Please Please Me (I Saw Her Standing There, Twist & Shout) and I have basically a favourite song on each album. But With The Beatles has overall the greatest feel. I absolutely love their covers, and the covers done on this are phenomenal. Paul in Long Tall Sally just makes me crazy, ***y, passionate, happy, insane all at once. His voice in this is killer, best rock and roll voice ever. George in Roll Over Beethoven may not feature great range, but has a unique quirky tone that makes me smile, and the way they play isn't cased with frills, but is rhythmic and bluesy and I just love it. John in You Really Got A Hold On Me was pure heaven. After every line, I can see him next to me singing them to me eye to eye, going deep into my soul. His voice is so honest, so perfect, the way people in love should be. The harmonies are perfect, the simplicity of the music is perfect, it's perfect. I know that many may argue that these are all covers, but what makes you who you are is what you grew up with, what you were raised with, where you came from, and these songs made them who they are, there would be no Beatles without these influences.”
