The Beatles recorded "I Want To Hold Your Hand" at Abbey Road, on this day, in 1963. It reached Number One in the USA and UK charts. Following the success of the single they performed it on the Ed Sullivan show to an estimated 73 million viewers on February 9th 1964.

Recorded on this day, 1968, in Studio 3, Abbey Road Studios. During recording, the band needed female vocals for the harmony - and as none were available in the studio they invited two fans from outside the studio to contribute the line "nothing's gonna change our world". The version with this backing track is featured on Past Masters.
